    - Mr. K.B. Boakye-Boateng

1967/68 Senior Prefect, Mr. Boakye Boateng is the Chief Administrator and Chairman of Forrestry Commission of Ghana. The Forestry Commission was originally established under Act 405 of 1980. It was charged with the responsibility for the regulation and management of the utilization of all forests and wildlife resources of Ghana and the Coordination of the policies in relation thereto.

The role of the Commission was modified under the Provisional National Defence Council (Establishment) Proclamation (Supplementary and Consequential) Law, 1982 (PNDC Law 42) which took away the Commission's Executive powers and rendered it a purely advisory body on all forestry sector issues.

Under the 4th Republic, the Forestry Commission, based on a similar arrangement for all the Natural Resources Commissions provided for under Article 269 of the 1992 Constitution, has been re-established by Act 453 of 1993.

The Commission is made up of representatives of the all the forestry sector agencies in the country. To perform the functions enshrined in the Act 453, the Commission is divided, at the board level, into Sub-Commitees. The work of these Sub-Committees address the relevant issues of the sector. The Secretariate of the Commission has three Divisions, namely, the Scientific, Administration and the Secretaries' Division. The head of the Commission's Secretariat Staff, Mr. K.B. Boakye-Boateng is the Chief Administrator.
