Acorstic is adjudged Nation's Best Sports Commentator

Monday, May 7, 2007

Arcostic The Prempeh College spirit forever reigns in all spheres of the Amanfoo as was evidenced in the just ended National Sports Awards last week.

Collins Asante, a product of the college and a former House Prefect of Freeman House was adjudged the Best Sports Commentator in the whole of Ghana.

Collins Asante popularly known as Arcostic who now works with Angel FM 96.1 MHz in Kumasi indulged himself in the world of sports even at Prempeh College. Collins, Class of 2003, was always seen organising the students during the inter-colleges and super-zonals competitions in the city. No wonder he took upon himself the role of a sports commentator after completing the college.

Event organizers, Media Trust awarded him the Best Sports Commentator (Twi) in Ghana. By public vote and the judges decision, the announcement was the expectation of all present as Arcostic has some time now drawn listeners to his radio station every Saturday and Sunday when there is any football match going on in Ghana.

Other award winners for 2006 are Sports Columnist, Ebo Kwaitoo (Graphic Sports), Sports Writer, Ernest Asare Boadu (Graphic), Joe Lartey (Eng), Sports Station (TV) Metro TV, Sports Station (Radio) HAPPY FM. Present at the ceremony were Hon. O B Amoah, Hon. Asamoah Boateng, Liverpool FC legend John Barnes and GFA Chairman Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi.
