Apio for the Premier League

Captain of last year's Prempeh national champion football team, Martin osei Nyarko, will likely join King Faisal FC.

Dec 20, 2005

Former Prempeh captain Osei Nyarko (Apio) came to show his skills on Training Day of the Prempeh.org Soccer League, where he asked to be allowed to play for his former house. He was in his last month of school and was deemed ineligible, along with the other form 3s, to play
Martin Osei Nyarko, who captained Prempeh to the national Milo football glory in 2005, is a very wanted man in Ghana.

For the past few weeks, Martin, who is popularly known as Apio, has been chased by several premier league clubs. King Faisal of Kumasi, Berekum Arsenals and Tano Bofoakwa all want to sign the Prempeh graduate.

King Faisal is the club leading the race to get his signature on a contract.

Faisal has met successfully with Apio's parents and the parents have advised their son to accept Faisal's offer, though Apio prefers his dream club Asante Kotoko. Kotoko, however, has not expressed an interest in him so far.

But Apio is fully aware that a good showing in Faisal uniform could easily attract him to the Champion Club of Ghana -- Asante Kotoko.

Martin is remembered for selflessly handing over the Prempeh captain's band to Ahmed Amoako to help groom him for the future (i.e., the 2005/06 season).
