AN AMANFOO ELECTED HEAD OF THE METHODIST CHURCH, GHANA
The Very Rev. Dr. Aboagye-Mensah, has been designated the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana.
Dr. Agyei-Mensah, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, was in August 2002 elected the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana.
His election took place at the just-ended 40th conference of the Methodist Church at the Wesley Cathedral in Kumasi.
Rev Dr Aboagye-Mensah polled 120 votes while the Right Reverend Justice Dadson, Bishop of Cape Coast Diocese got 106 votes.
The Presiding Bishop-elect will take over from the Most Reverend Dr Samuel Asante-Antwi in October next year.
Rev Dr Aboagye-Mensah thanked the church members and his colleagues for the honour bestowed on him.
