Prempeh not spared from Nature's wrath

Friday, June 8, 2007

This tree just barely missed Mr. Yeboah's house

The storm that is blowing throughout Ghana is not over yet in Oseikrom.

The rains have started puring in and some people in Accra have been rendered homeless by the rains and storm that comes along with it.

Prempeh College was not an exception as last week Saturday, the rains uprooted a huge tree on the campus of the Sofoline University.

Some of the students now seee the real essence of the headmaster's decision to cut down trees in the college. The Headmaster, who started a tree cutting exercise a few years ago should feel very vindicated by his past actions because a water polytank was destroyed by the falling tree. It also missed the Assistant Headmaster's house by a hair's breath. It could have crushed the house and the people in it.

However, other people feel the rains bringing down one tree does not warrant the headmaster or anyone to be uprooting them.
