Prempeh College has over the years produced some outstanding masters who now
head various institutions in the country. The likes of Prof Asenso-Okyere,
Prof Agyepong have their names written in the annals of great universities
in Ghana as they were Vice Chancellors. Some have been great headmasters of
great institutions. This spirit of excellence and leadership imbued in every
product of the college has been transferred to any one who works in the
college regardless of the school the person completed.
Mr. Anokye and Wofa K. who were teachers of the college now head Opoku Ware Sec
and Konongo Odumasi respectively. Now it is the time of former teachers of
Prempeh College to be lecturers at the universities. Mr. James Boateng, a
former tutor at the college is now a Biology lecturer at University of Cape
Coast. Prof James as he was affectionaly called was a Biology teacher and
taught the3 Science 5 class as well as some classes in form 2.
He is known to be one of the masters that inculcated into their students
good morals and discipline. One thing that was "funny" about this man was
that, he never pronounced the female genital organ though he was a Biology
master. Even when he was teaching reproduction, he never mentioned it. He
always made his boys laugh a lot.
Another one mistress who is normally called Sikayena now teaches English at
the University of Ghana, Legon. She was always a delight to watch by the
gentlemen of the college. Her catwalk was the envy of all the mistresses and
the delight of all the masters on campus.
Prempeh College is making headways
in terms of education and these masters who help the gentlemen come out with
flying colours deserve to be applauded.
