Prempeh College reopened for the second term of the 2006/7 academic year
yesterday and had an opening ceremony today at the forecourt of the college.
The opening ceremony which is a tradition of the college began with an
Opening Prayer by the College Chaplain Rev. Laryea who gave some words
of exhortation to the boys: to be of good behaviour and abstain from
all sorts of neagtive things that will drag the name of the college in
the mud in 2007.
Some announcements were given by the Assistant Headmasters and the
Senior Housemaster. The Snr. Housemaster advised the boys to be of
good character and report their colleagues who break the rules and
regulations of the college rather than covering them up. He also
intimated that, as the father of the boys, they should always come to
him with their problems so he can relay them to the headmaster for
them to be solved amicably. He further reminded the boys of the
disciplinary actions that will be meted out to them should they break
any law of the land.
Headmaster's Message:
The headmaster's speech was welcomed by the college anthem and with
the hoisting of the college flag.
The headmaster welcomed all the boys back from the holidays and asked
them to write how they celebrated the christmas holidays to their
English masters for marks. The boy whose article or essay will be
found as the most interesting will then be awarded.
He then stressed on how serious and hectic the term is going to be as
the boys lost the whole of last term to unecessary strike actions by
NAGRAT.
The headmaster also informed the students of the Founders Day
celebration which comes off in February and admonished the boys to be
of good behaviour in 2007 to avoid any press man from
speaking ill of the college and the president of the country.
Senior Prefect's Address:
The Senior Prefect also welcomed the boys back from the holidays and
promised the boys who took the first positions in the SRC and
prempeh.org organised basketball and essay competition of their awards
at a special ceremony.
He also said there will be a student's week celebration this term so
implore all Amanfoo to come to their aid in that stead. The
prefectorial body will also pay a visit to the President at The Castle
this term.
Closing Prayer:
The closing prayer was said by the student Chaplain. MHB 870 was then
sung and there was a benediction by the Chaplain.
