Reports reaching us indicate that a group of people supposedly from the
CEDEP (Centre for the Development of People) came to the college
to lecture the students on how to sit for the SAT.
They prearranged with the boys to charge a fee of 60,000 cedis each.
They came and collected the collosal amount from several form 2 boys
who had expressed interest interest in the program.
But upon taking the money, they disappeared from Sofoline never to return again to fulfill
their pledge.
Possibly several hundreds of students may have contributed their hard-earned money to get
the visitors to lecture them.
The Assistant headmaster has denied
any knowledge about this scam because he had actually went out of town for a while.
What we need now is for the administrators to investigate and file a police report so the boys
can get their money back. 60,000 cedis is a lot of money for a kid in school.
