Forty Niners Club Granted Amnesty

Thursday, September 14, 2006

The Prempeh College 49ers -- a club made up of students who obtained a mark of 49.9% instead of the required minimum of 50% -- have been granted amnesty from dismissal.

These boys have been given the opportunity to remain at The Royal School and prove themselves.

Traditionally Prempeh College requires a mark of 40% for promotion. But this Headmaster raised the bar by 10 points in an attempt to get the boys to excel. Thus, once upon a time, the achievements of these illustrious group of Niners would have been deemed meritorious.

The Headmaster is saying that he will no longer show the Niners any mercy; only 50.0% will do, not 49.95%. Twenty nine students who fell below 50, including 14 who did not feel like taking the final exams, have been dismissed. Only the 49ers were spared.

We wish the 49ers Club the best in their quest to stay alive.
