Atiemo caught in a lie

Saturday, April 8, 2006

Senior Housemaster Atiemo, who is a Deacon of the Church of Pentecost in Kumasi, has been caught in a lie.

What a Christian Leader!

When he took the Athletics trophy to present to President Kufuor at his residence in Kumasi on Wednesday March 22, 2006, he refused to take the Sports master and the athletes along, even though the Headmaster advised him to take them on the visit.

Atiemo stepped out of the Assembly Hall and saw the 2 sports masters and, considering them insignificant, decided to go and present the trophy to President Kufuor himself.

Later, when Mr. Lartey asked Atiemo why he didn't invite him to come on the trip, Atiemo replied with the following: "I came to your house to get you, but your daughter told me you were not around and she didn't know when you will return."

Mr. Lartey then asked Atiemo to point to the daughter that made that statement. It became an embarassing spectacle for the Church Elder when it became clear that he had lied.

President Kufuor had come to town that week to partake in the investiture of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the new Chancellor of Tech University and also for the Prempeh Keep Fit Club Silver Jubilee Walk, all on March 25, 2006.

When Atiemo realised that the stories appearing here were so credible that it could have come from Lartey himself, he rushed to him and apologised for his lies and the disrespect which triggered a "resignation threat" from Mr. Lartey.
