PREMPEH IS CROWNED THE NATION'S BEST SCHOOL

    Wednesday, March 8, 2006

Last Thursday, Prempeh College swept eight awards out of twelve at the maiden edition of the PASORG Ghana event at the Accra International Conference center. This was the first edition of the event organised by Prestige awards organisation in Ghana. The awards is aimed at encouraging all second cycle institutions to strive to achieve the best for themselves. It serves as a motivation too to the schools that are excelling so they would not rest on their oars. The event which took place on the 2nd of March had artistes like Praye, Wutah, Bandana and Castro performing live.

About 69 groups from the various schools also performed to grace the occasion.

The best school award which is the ultimate award was jointly awarded to Prempeh College and Wesley Girls, who have refused to participate in the National Science and Maths Quiz competitions over the years for fear of being exposed.

Prempeh College took the Best Debate school award with Presbyterian Boys Secondary, though we crush the latter any time we face them.

For the most disciplined school, Prempeh College, Achimota, Wesley Girls High ad Holy Child shared that award.

The Best Quiz school award went to Prempeh and all the other schools that have taken the National Science and Maths Quiz trophy twice.

Prempeh's neat environment took home the Neatest School award with Adisadel College pinned unto our apron string.

When it came to the Best Old Students Association, it was all joy as all the students present were mentioning their schools name. Before this event, some Presecans were seen arguing with the Motown guys that Prempeh was going to take that award while the Achimotans replied by saying that should Prempeh win, then it will be due to the influence of the President. Some Presec boys argued that if Prempeh does not win the Best Old Students awaard, that will imply that President Kufuor is a bad old boy and a poor example for the nation.

With committed old boys like Prof. Akosa, John Sarpong, Moses Tetteh, Dr. Francis Achampong, Harold Ofori, and Senior Agbenyega to mention but a few, who are really pushing the college forward, the jury had nothing to do than to give Prempeh Old Boys Association and the Old Achimotans Association the Best Old Students award.

Prempeh took the Best Business School award alongside our dear ladies, Yaa Asantewaa Girls, St Thomas Aquinas and OWASS.

The only awards Prempeh did not win were Best Agric School, Best Day School, Dedicated P.T.A School and Best Entertainment School - a stigma we did not want.

Prempeh's Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Yeboah received the awards on behalf of Prempeh.
