SPECIAL REPORTS: DO OUR MASTERS LOVE OUR SCHOOL?
Monday, February 13, 2006
Prempeh College went into the Ashanti Milo Football competition in November aiming to win the trophy
for a third consecutive time. We knew all along that we qualify automatically to play in the national Milo football finals as defending champions
irrespective of the outcome in Ashanti.
We beat Bonwire Secondary 1-0 and Kofi Adjei Secondary 3-0 and thereby
won the group that included Beposo and Owareman Schools.
Prempeh moved on to the next round of the Milo on December 6 to take on Adu Gyamfi Secondary School in the Milo tourney
proper at the Kumasi Sports Stadium. Adu Gyamfi is a school that featured 2 members of the national under-17 team, the Black Starlets.
What happened at the Stadium on Tuesday, December 6 and the days preceding the tournament is a story that depicts administrative
mismanagement, breach of contractual agreements, gross negligence, ignominy, a poor understanding of
the justification for a salary, and a shocking lack of loyalty (on the part of some Prempeh masters) towards Mother Prempeh.
