    BOYS RETURN TO SCHOOL TODAY

    Monday, November 7, 2005

The boys return to Sofoline today from the midterm holidays. They left last Wednesday.

Only the soccer and volleyball teams remained on campus to prepare for impending inter-schools events.

This week will be one of the most exciting weeks in the school term. Not only will there be about 3 inter-houses quizzes competitions, there is our maiden Mr. Prempeh competition on saturday. Recall also that there are 4 crucial soccer league matches this weekend.

All the teams have played four matches with four more left to go. The gap between the first placed team and the eighth team on the league table is merely 6 points (i.e. two wins). Consequently, each of the top 8 houses is mathematically capable of winning the league.

Butler House team - are they beatable?
Serwaa has vowed to beat Aggrey on Friday while Freeman looks ready to hold leaders Butler to at least a draw on the same day.

Before the Mr. Prempeh contest on saturday Pearson needs a victory against Guggisberg House while a tough OT side confronts Ramseyer's seeming impregnability. If OT, Pearson and Freeman succeeds in gaining victory, the league will become even more exciting as it will lead the race wide open.

If that happens, the league will go all the way to the wire and the championship may even be decided on goal difference. Isn't that what we all hope for -- an exciting league?

There will also be several quizzes competition this weekend, while the school soccer team also prepares for the opening of their national title defense on Tuesday.

However, there is a serious controversy surrounding the boys' return to school this week. Prempeh.org will bring you the story this evening.
