    CRISIS IN SOFOLINE

    Wednesday, November 30, 2005

If there was any evidence that there is crisis at Sofoline, it came today, November 30, 2005.

Having decided to starve the Prefects again by not letting them eat at the high table until Monday, the Prefects have been unable to enter the Dining Hall so far because of students not respecting them.

Today, the most disgraceful thing happened at this school which showed how low the Royal School has sunken.

Mr. Atiemo, the Senior Housemaster, who disgraced himself on Wednesday
Senior Housemaster Mr. Atiemo, in an attempt to get some of the students on the side of the administration, ordered the students to beat up prefects. He stood on the Dining Hall platform and urged all students to search for prefects and beat them, and inflict the highest degree of harm on them if they can.

Here is a whole Senior Housemaster who, instead of being the father of the student body, is now inciting violence. A man who has actually studied Education in the university, and is supposed to be a sound educator, is asking students to go on a rampage and harm others.

Not only does this depicts ignorance, it also transcends wickedness. An act like this should warrant a ban from the teaching profession completely.

In fact, in other cultures this act would constitute a criminal act.

Whenever any advice is offered to our Headmaster and his able Administrators, the headmaster is quick to point out that he "studied Education at the University, holds a masters in Education, and knows what he is doing." He is always invoking his "education" background. But this week, it appears this administration is not acting like men with 'education" background.

The Headmaster obviously may have not heard of the Senior Housemaster's despicable behaviour.

We want to remind the Headmaster that should he be taken out of Prempeh College because of the crisis unfolding there now, he may never get another headmastership position because of the record being highlighted for the whole world on this website, as that would make a mockery of the GES. The headmaster may be consigned to an office work somewhere in the Education Service offices in Kumasi.

We have been a friend to him over the years but we love our school more.
