PREMPEH IN DISARRAY, PART IV: OLD BOYS LOSE HOPE IN HEADMASTER

    Tuesday, November 29, 2005

At a recent Old Boys meeting held at the Prempeh College library, the Ashanti Regional Old Boys President and several Amanfoo expressed regret at the way things are being run at Prempeh today.

The group unanimously declared that the Headmaster is not doing enough to maintain the structures because he does not feel the passion that Amanfoo feel about their alma mater.

The Regional President urged Amanfoo "act to push the school forward because the man's time will come and he'll go, but for Amanfoo, the school will always be ours. His time will come and he will go; he knows that, so he basically does not care about the school."

Photo taken on Homos night on October 15. Take a look at the horrible walls, which the headmaster says he cannot afford to paint without funding from old boys. Nana Akyempemhene was so stunned by what he saw that he provided funds for its renovation a week later.

There are cracks in the ceiling of the classroom block, which leaks whenever it rains. This was reported to the prempeh.org web team by Senior Demitiah, whom the headmaster recognises as his most serious antagonist.

Those who have seen the photos of the Assembly Hall stage are shocked by the Administration's lackadaisical attitude towards rehabilitation of campus structures.

The Headmaster has lent much credence to the argument that a school must make her own products headmasters in order to succeed. All those who took the contrary view and supported this headmaster might be feeling very disappointed.
