US MEDIA TO LAUNCH PREMPEH COLLEGE DOCUMENTARY

    Wednesday, August 3, 2005

When it comes to the best second cycle institutions, so many things are taken into consideration. Some schools are better than others and that is how life is. No wonder, when the Times Newspaper (USA) wanted to conduct a documentary on the second cycle sshools in West Africa, there was so much contention.

The prestigious Times Newspaper is going to have a documentary and a survey on the education in the second cycle institutions in West Africa compared to the high school system in the United States of America.

After making a critical analysis of all the schools in West Africa via their prominent old students (products of the schools), their website, the environment, academia, sports, integrity, character to mention but a few, they were left with the chance to choose between Adisadel College and Prempeh College.

President J.A. Kufuor's visit to Prempeh College in 2001
A college was to be chosen from the two colleges. The fame of Sam Jonah couldn't match that of His Excellency the President of Ghana so they decided to choose Prempeh as the school that they will conduct the survey and the documentary on.

Of course, the authorities realised that unlike Prempeh, Adisadel doesn't have any website that could help the press learn much about the Cape Coast school's achievements and record. This website helped Prempeh's case tremendously, as it clear-sightedly illuminates the achievements of the Prempeh people worldwide.

Prempeh College thus will be compared to the high schools on the United States to assess the educational system in West Africa next term.

Headmaster Owusu-Achiaw released this information to prempeh.org on Monday. We asked him for clarification as to which Times newspaper was conducting this study, since there are several such newspaper names in the USA (e.g., Los Angeles Times and New York Times). He will confirm with the Education Ministry and get back to us.

Don't be surprised to see photos from prempeh.org on PBS-TV.
