AGYENGO CHECKS IN
Saturday, July 16, 2005
Our former trainer/coach, Mr. Agyemang Duah, popularly called Agyengo,
who has been residing in the USA since August 2004,
called today to check in with the website, which he has been consistently following.
It was nice hearing from him after
some months now.
He started by thanking us for the good things that we
have been doing for the school especially, "the things that prempeh.org
has been doing on the internet."
He says he checks the website regularly,
especially during the weekends and after checking the website
today, he called because he was disappointed that we didn't inform him of the impending soccer
league, since he could
have helped in his own small way.
We could not reach him to inform him of our plans ahead of time because
we lacked his contact information in Texas, where he is based.
We told him it isn't late.
Agyengo also says that we should help make him an Associate Amanfoo if
possible because he has the Amanfoo pendant in his car, and Amanfoo
posters at the back of the car. He wants to know what he
should do before he can be accorded an Amanfoo status. He is ready to pay any
amount and also pay all his outstanding dues. The man is very serious.
He says he wants to be the patron of Guggisberg house and support the
cause of the house so he wants to become an Associate Amanfoo immediately, so that he can
be made the patron of his beloved Guggisberg house.
Agyengo chose Prempeh when he was being posted from the University College of Winneba because
he has loved the College ever since his youth. He said in his interview with prempeh.org that
he always wanted to be a part of the College.
He was intensely grateful "for all the good things we have been
doing for the school."
He says he would call again on Tuesday and also send his picture so we
can update his profile.
Agyengo can be reached at agyengo@prempeh.org.
He was the inventor of the Prempeh Soccer League last year. It is the first of its kind in
the country. We are continuing from where he left off.
