ROBO IS REMORSEFUL
Friday, July 15, 2005
Mr. Peter Yeboah, also called Robo, whose lashing of a student caused bleeding
and triggered an unfortunate chain of events on our campus,
is very remorseful.
He told us that he is actually NOT an advocate of caning. He doesn't like to cane students;
this unfortunate
incident was actually the first time he applied the cane in such manner.
He approached us on the day of the PTA meeting with concerns about his reputation.
His students had printed out our report of the incident that appeared on this website, presented it to
him and teased him with it, saying that "he's an escaped prisoner from Nsawam."
The reason for this silly joke is that in the article, we placed the following caption under his photo:
"This is the notorious Robo, the Geography master who
squashed someone's head with a cane. Shame on him. When
is he going to be taken to Nsawam? Are there no vacant
spaces in Nsawam Prisons for him?"
The students found it so humourous that they teased him and urged him to visit the
website himself, which he did.
He told us he has regretted his action and he would like to be seen as a friend of the students
and not their enemy.
The man is really contrite.
Accordingly, we have taken out the Nsawam punitive wish
out of the news article. He is actually a very nice man.
We advised him to use the cane with caution, and he understood.
