The Deabting team on March 3rd won the prestigious National Independence Day Debate in front of a live national television audience by defeating Accra's PRESEC 204-198 points. William was the supporting speaker for the Prempeh team.
The quartet also won the Adae Kese debate, which formed part of the activities marking the celebration of the Asanteman "Adae Kese" festival and the fifth anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as the Asantehene.
Congratulations to Papa Yaw, Gyeabour K.O., and Abdul Kharliq for a magnificient school year. All four gentlemen have left footprints on the sand of time. They have made history as Prempeh's first national debate winners; moreover, they have set an excellent example to be followed by Sofoline boys of the future.

The Senior Housemaster, Mr. Obeng Odoom is going to serve as Assistant Headmaster at Tema Secondary School in Greater Accra, where he will assist Rev. Walton, last year's Prempeh College Chaplain who is now heading that institution. Not only are these two Prempeh minds in charge of Temasco, but also several of our staff have been appointed Headmasters elsewhere. It may be recalled that after being promoted to Assistant Headmaster at Konongo Odumasi Secondary School (KOSS), our legendary Physics and Maths teacher, "Wofa K" has been appointed Full headmaster after just 2 months of outstanding work in office. Mr. Anokye is also the new headmaster at OWASS. Prempeh men are running the entire nation.

As Senior Housemaster Mr. Odoom is stepping down, speculation is prevalent on campus as to who his replacement will be.
Among the interesting list of candidates for that job is Butler Housemaster and Economics tutor, Mr. Agyekum, popularly known as Paoo. The social science teacher, Mr. Solomon Nti (SOLONESTA) is also tipped to be the next Senior Housemaster.
While the Butler Housemaster seems to be very popular among some Amanfoo, others think Mr. Naziq, Ramseyer housemaster could also become the next Senior Housemaster. And who can forget Prof Sam, the Gberg housemaster? And then there is Mr. Gyekye, a new master on campus who is also a contender.
Who will it be? Watch this space as will prempeh.org bring you all the new developments and news concerning the candidates.

The Daily Graphic this week gave the nation a look at Prempeh's new bus on its front page and in color. The bus is extremely beautiful: it is painted white and green with Prempeh College on the sides and "AMANFOO" at the top corner of the screen. Thus President Kufuor has fulfilled his promise to the School.
The paper wrote, "GETFUND has provided Prempeh College with a 50-seater bus that costs 475,000,000 cedis. This was in respect of the President J.A.Kuffour's pledge to give the school a new bus. His Excellency, J.A. Kuffour himself is an old boy of Prempeh Collge in Kumasi."
The bus was presented by the Chief of Staff, Mr.Kwadwo Mpianim (an Amanfoo) to the headmaster. Addressing the guests who were there, the chief of staff said it was the government's aim to help upgrade and provide infrastructure to schools to help the educational standard in the country. Also present was the Regional Minister, S.K. Boafo. The headmaster, Mr. Owusu-Achiaw urged the government to help expand the Assembly Hall of the school so that it could take about 2000 students since it takes only 500.
He also said that there should be rehabilitation of some of the places in the school such as the Accounts Department. The Regional Minister and the Chief of Staff said they would forward the request to the President."
Thank you, Mr. President.

The Royal Pair is the name. Alliance is the tradition. This is what is prevailing between the two royal schools, Prempeh College and Yaa Asntewaa. Before vacation, the euphoria on campus was so high after the two heads of the above mentioned schools had a meeting to discuss the way forward for the two schools in terms of the bond that links them.
About three days later, Prempeh guys started getting letters which were addressed to the class prefects. B1, B2, B3 had their letters from Yagss with names attached that the boys should choose a girl each as their blind dates. S1 also had two lettters - one from St. Mary's in Accra and another from Yagss but they chose the one from Tanoso. Similarly, S3 had 2 letters from Krobo Girls and YAGSS which they also chose the one closer to them. There was a problem in S2 as 60 boys were given a list of 46 girls to choose from. That is to say, some of the guys have to serve as celibates or forgo adhering to the alliance. This is the problem that has hit the boys as their number exceed that of the girls.
All the ladies in Ghana want a piece of Prempeh boys, but our loyalty is to Yaa Asantewaa Royal Girls School.
No cream shirt-wearing boy has been pursued by any girl anywhere. It is only the boys in green - Prempeh boys - that get all the affection.

As Heaven's chief representative on Prempeh's campus, the Chaplain should look more pleasant than he does
on campus. The students recently urged the Chaplain, Mr. Erasmus Laryea to smile during open forum. He is always seen with a frowned face. Even during the 54th Speech day last December, he was looking very mean.
The Open forum is a gathering of the students, Headmaster and his staff and PTA where students present their grievances so that they are addressed. It was introduced after the last student demonstration.

A form one boy sent the Prep Prefect on April fool's day to the Senior Housemaster, Mr. Obeng Odoom. The boy told the Prefect that the Senior Housemaster wanted to see him urgently at 5am. The Prefect rushed to the Senior Housemaster's house only to be told that it was rather April fool.
Meanwhile the Prefects Council's invigilation of the end of term exams was a success as they maintained order strictly according to how the masters do it.
School reopens on the 26th of April. However, the Quiz team arrives on the 9th of April and leave for Accra on the 11th, for the year's biggest show at the secondary school level - the National Science & Maths Quiz scheduled to kick off on April 12. Our opponents will be known in about a week's time.

The Asantehene's Adae Kese Debate, which is an all-Ashanti event opened to schools in the
Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions, has just extended an invitation to national debate runner-up
Presbyterian Secondary School of Legon, Accra. This will give the PRESEC boys a perfect
opportunity to avenge their defeat at the National Finals in March. PRESEC lost to
Prempeh in the National Independence Debate finals held on March 3rd 2004.
The King's debate is scheduled for April 29, 2004.

The College will close on April first for the end of the second term, 2003/2004 academic year.
Owing to the nationwide teachers' strike, none of the schools in Ghana besides Prempeh wrote an exam.
It was only Prempeh headmaster who made his students (Forms 1 and 2) write an end of term exam because he wants
the boys to excell at the national level. Since the final year students were not taking any exams, they were able to supervise the
juniors.
This was a truly successful term and has been a magnificient year for the Kings College. Prempeh has been the only school winning everything in Ghana.
The football team won the prestigious Milo Soccer competition on February 6th by beating the famous"football school" KASS on penalties - 4-3. The Deabting team on March 3rd won the prestigious National Independence Day Debate in front of a live national television audience by defeating Accra's PRESEC 204-198 points. The athletics team won the Interco Athletics Zone D championship, while the Quiz team successfully conquered all the teams they faced in Cape Coast - Mfantsipim, St. Augustine's, Swedru Secondary and Ghana National Secondary. The Quiz team also won the Ashanti Regional Maths Quiz competition and therefore gets to represent the Region. Furthermore, they won the SRC Zone I Quiz championship. They compete in the most prestigious competition - the National Science & Maths Quiz competition on April 12 - a program which Prempeh has dominated over the years.
Prempeh and Yaa Asantewaa are the "only schools in Kumasi" according to recent trends. Prempeh wins everything. Everything.
