Mr. Agyenim Boateng
Quizmaster, Asst. Director of Education for Kumasi Metropolis.
Mr. Kwabena Akuamoah Agyenim Boateng was born some 40 years ago
in the city of Accra in the Greater Accra Region.
As a result of his parents' frequent travels throughout Ghana, he did not have
his elementary school in one particular place as he sojourned from one place to
the other.
Mr. Agyenim Boateng as the name speaks for itself is an Asante who has some part of
him coming from the Fanteland.
He attended St John's Secondary school
in Accra where he had his Ordinary Certificate and later the Advanced Level
Certificate. He then entered the University of Cape Coast and graduated with
BSc (Chemistry) and Diploma in Education.
He entered the Ghana Education Service as a professional teacher in 1986.
He has taught Chemistry and Integrated Science and continues to do that in Ghana.
He started teaching at Prempeh College in 1987 and has ever since being there.
He is known to be one of the teachers who has really taught for a long time at
the college precisely for almost 19 years now.
Mr. Agyenim Boateng is popularly known as Avogadro, a name derived from the famous
Chemist. He is an Assistant Director of Education in the Kumasi Metroplois.
The success story of the 1994 and 1996 National Science and Maths Quiz cannot be
perfect without mentioning his name.
He was an integral part of the winning streak in those days.
His additional responsibility is being the Quizmaster for all the Science and Math Quizzes on campus.
Mr Agyenim Boateng says his hobby is finding out new things that would help in his
quest to be the best
teacher in Ghana and also helping students to pass and come out with flying colours.
He is married with children. His motivation is always seeing the progress of Prempeh College.
Avogadro believes that winning the national trophy for Prempeh College the third time is not
farfetched but the preparations are not always enough.
He said, "this initiative of
prempeh.org which was founded by Senior Harold Ofori will do the magic as the
preparations will be more than enough to help annex the trophy."
