Mr. Francis K. K. Kupo

Francis K.K. Kupo
Coordinator, Maths and Science Quiz.

Mr. Kupo was born on the 6th of March, 1957 -- the very day that Ghana gained independence -- in Grupe, a village in the West Gonja District of Northern Ghana. He started his formal education in 1963 in his hometown and continued in the then Middle Boarding School, Damongo.

He attended St Charles Junior Seminary at Tamale for his secondary education from 1973 to 1978 where he obtained his Ordinary Level certificate of Education. Kupo then had his Advanced Level Studies in Navrongo Secondary School. In 1981, he entered the University of Cape Coast and graduated with awards of BSc (Hons) and Diploma in Education.

He entered the Ghana Education Service as a professional teacher in 1986.He has taught Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Integrated Science at different levels in Ghana.

He went to the University of Ghana, Legon for further studies where he obtained Master of Philosophy in1994.He has taught in various secondary schools and currently he is teaching at Prempeh College, Kumasi, Ghana.

His additional responsibility is coordinating the training of teams for the National Science and Mathematics Quiz. Kupo has a penchant of always calculating and that has been his hobby. When he is not calculating, then he will be reading. He is married to a beautiful wife with kids. His motivation is always seeing that Mother Prempeh progresses in everything that she does since there are some concerned old students who care so much about the welfare of the school.

Prof Kupo, as he is affectionately called by his students, believes that winning the national trophy for Prempeh College the third time will be one of his greatest achievements and so he will leave no stone unturned in achieving it.
