Douglas, popularly known as Manchester United, was captain of the Ashanti JSS soccer team and played for a 3rd division side called Manchester United at Bohyen in Kumasi.

During his Sports Prefectship year, he helped Prempeh win the Ashanti Milo football competition.

Nyame is one of several Prempeh products currently excelling in foreign universities, which gives further testimony that Prempeh is indeed a soccer Mecca.

In 2005, he was named to the NSCAA NCAA Division II Southeast Region All-Region team. Douglas was also named to the 2005 All-CVAC Conference soccer team at the league's annual banquet.

He helped anchor an Anderson College defense that posted three shutouts and allowed just one goal in four other matches.

His hobbies include browsing the internet and playing soccer.
