Another Amanfoo for the Castle?

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Mr. Ato Essuman
With the position of the flagbearer of the NPP settled, time has come for the party's presidential candidate Nana Akuffo-Addo to choose his running mate.

Many names have come up with people speculating that he will go in for a muslim as has been the tradition over the years. Another school of thought also say the Vice President could not help NPP win most votes from the Northern Regions of Ghana so no muslim or Northerner should be made the running mate.

In 2004, President Kufuor escaped by the skin of the teeth when the people from the Central Region decided on who should be the president. It was almost going to be a difficult ordeal until the Cape Coasters eventually voted for the New Patriotic Party.

A citizen of Cape Coast is therefore being sought to do the magic for the NPP come this year. The pundits and political analysts of our time are all tipping an inspirational Amanfoo to take the Vice-Presidency baton and help the NPP to victory on December 7.

Senior Ato Essuman, a member of the Council of State and the Chief Director of Ghana Education Service, has been named to be the running mate, according to the analysts.

Is it going to be another Amanfoo in the castle? All hail Prempeh College
