Dr. Anarfi Asamoa-Baah
becomes WHO Deputy Director-General

Dr. Anarfi Asamoa-Baah who has served as the Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization in charge of
Communicable Diseases since 2003, has been appointed Deputy Director-General of the organization, making him the second-in-command.
This also implies that he is likely next in line to become chief of the organization in a few years to come.
Former Director-general of the Ghana Health Services, he joined the WHO in 1998 and initially served as Senior Policy Advisor to the
then Director-General.
