Nana Susubiribi Krobea Asante II faces revolt

Information reaching Kessben News indicated that the Omanhene of the Asokore Traditional area in the Ashanti Region Nana Susubirbi Krobea Asante has been destooled. This follows the slaughtering of a ram at the forecourt of the palace yesterday by the Kyidomhene Nana Kwabena Damey, Akyeamehene Nana Frimpong Ampu II and a section of the royal lineage members to signify that the Omanhene has been destooled waiting for Otumfuo approval.

In the Ashanti Region the custom dictate that when a ram is slaughter at the palace of a sitting chief by his elders then it imply that the chief has been destoled.

According to the Kyidomhene and the Akyeamhene who led the performance of the traditional function, Nana S.K B Asante one of the country’s most finest constitutional law experts has since his enstoolment some 14 years ago showed a great deal of disrespect for tradition.

They noted that the Omanhene does not pour libation, feed the stools and other performance of traditional functions.

They observed that several attempts by the elders to let Nana S.K.B Asante respect tradition have proved futile.

Not even their petition to the Asantehene has made any stride in that direction.

Meanwhile another ram has been sent to the Asantehene to be slaughtered to reiterate their decision to destool the Omanhene.

However, indications are that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ought to give approval before the Omanhene could be destooled absolutely.
