During the 2005 Inter-Regionals Sports festival, prempeh.org had a chat with two of Ashanti Regions great sports superstars, Alimoe of OWASS (the reigning national basketball player of the year) and Fidelia of YAGSS. This is what the had to say:

Derrick Sarpong (aka ALIMOE)

The Ashanti basketball team which includes Alimoe (No. 8 shirt) and 4 Prempeh players. Number 7 is Henry Dotwa (Demolition), number 6 is George Appiah (Ashes) and number 1 is Maxwell Amankwaa (Siege). Amoh Gyimah (Bello) is wearing the number 10 shirt.
Class: 3A3

Nickie: I had the name from a basket ball player

My trade: I play the basketball almost everyday in my house. A half basketball is in my house that I train on each time. My parents purchased that for me.

Background: 4th of a family of 7 children to Mr Yaw Sarpong and Mrs Ernestina Acheampong

Favourite food: Beef Burger

Future aspiration: I would like to be a pilot but i think Basket ball star is the best thing for me.

Fidelia Duah Prempeh

School: YAGSS

Age: 16

Class: 1 Visual

JSS: Central JSS and later moved to Wesco JSS

Background: 6th of a family of 11 children. My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Duah Prempeh of Mmron castle

Why did you choose YAGSS: I chose Yagss because I see it to ber one of the best secondary schools in Ghana and since I wanted to get a higher education, I chose no other school except Yagss.

How do you see Prempeh College: It is undoubtedly the best in Ghana. I would have enrolled if I were to be a guy. The boys are well mannered and disciplined.

How do you see the competition: I am hurt and would not run in the 1500 m except the 800m but Ashanti Region will surely make it.

Favourite food: Banku and okro

Aspirations: Be a Graphic designer
