Prempeh boys to represent Ghana in the USA

Wednesday, July 6, 2005

Okei Stephen and some of our boys leave for America tomorrow.

We reported earlier that Prempeh's superstar athlete, Eric Goloe, is Ghana's sole representative in the World Youth Athletics championship.

Earlier today, a call came in asking for Prempeh's soccer stars to report to Accra with their passports in order to make a trip to the USA tomorrow, where they will represent Ghana in an international soccer tournament.

With Goloe unavailable because of his athletics committments in Morocco, the sports master selected four boys. Ahmed Deedat Amoako, Okei Stephen, Amoah Ebenezer (No.6-midfielder) and Eric Kusi join some other footballers to represent Ghana in U.S.A.

The total number of students making the trip is 32, with Prempeh College having the greatest number of representatives folowed by Pope John's with 3 students. KUHIS produced 1 person and KASS another person.

YAGSS has 4 students joining the team, leading the female delegation.

This is the same competition which brought Coach Agyengo and our basketball players to the U.S. last year. This time, instead of the basketball, it's going to be soccer. They will spend a month in the U.S.A.

They will fly tomorrow. It is being sponsored by KMA just like last year.
