Prempeh.org Challenge: Inter-Houses Soccer 2005/06

Preview: Aggrey House

Thursday, July 14, 2005

On the left is Martin Osei Nyarko (APIO), who was actually our captain, but selflessly handed over the captaincy to Ahmed, who is in Form 2, because he is in his final months at Prempeh, and wanted to groom Ahmed for next year. Apio inherited the captainship from Chibsah last year. Apio will be able to play a few games before graduating from Prempeh in August.
Eventhough they did not annexe the inter-house soccer competition that took place a couple of weeks ago, Aggrey house is determined to win the Prempeh.org Challenge and win it convincingly.

Among the players who will do battle for the Aggreyans are the captain of the school team, Ahmed Deedat Amoako who is one of the dangerous players we have right now in the country who would simply allow the ball to pass over the goal line when not checked properly by the defenders of the opposing team.

He was adjudged the over all best player in Ghana during the National Inter-schools Milo competition held in Koforidua. He will by all means don the 10 jersey and will be striking for his house eventhough he can reasonably play any position on the field.

As Aggrey house faces the current champions of the school (Pearson house), they need to score more goals and Martion Osei Nyarko who is in Form three now and about to leave has resolved to help the house do just that.

But Aggreyans should not be over-confident because in the inter-house gala competition held last month, they lost to Butler, a team that eventually lost to Pearson.

How then can they face Pearson?
