National Science & Maths Quiz 2007

Prempeh win 2 friendly quizzes

Thursday, June 21, 2007

Prempeh College is set to take Accra by storm next week when the National Science and Maths Quiz competition takes off. After the exit of Abeiku, the team is still performing and the contestants feel this exit has really compelled them to prove everybody wrong.

The contestants
The boys however had some friendly quizzes lined up for them until they leave for Accra on Sunday. Yesterday, the contest was against Konongo Odumasi who will be in Accra for this year's quiz.

Though the Prempeh boys admit they could not make the best out of the "problem of the day" question, they had virtually all their questions right and also pocketed some bonus points from the questions that their opponents got wrong.

The boys displaced their opponents by getting 86 points while the KOSS contestants had 60. The gap tells it all. Konongo Odumasi which is headed by our former Maths teacher Wofa K. faced the talent and power of Mawuenya, Dompreh and Jeffrey.

While Dompreh took dominion over the Biology questions, Mawuenya relaxed and answered all the Maths questions with Jeffrey, the quiet guy making all the points from the Physics and Chemistry questions.

Konongo Odumasi is not an easy team. They are really armed as they beat Kumasi Anglican this year with Kumasi Anglican also beating OWASS at Santasi.

Today, the contest was between the Prempeh boys and the "sharks" from the Northern part of the country, Bolgatanga Secondary. The contest started at 9:00 am and lasted for 2 hours.

Mawuenya, Jeffrey and Dompreh made mince meat of their opponents. In the end, Prempeh College had 88 points while BIG BOSS had 51 points.

BIG BOSS will stay at Sofoline until they also leave for Accra on Sunday. The boys are really up to task and need just a litle push from all stakeholders. prempeh.org will always support them and give them the maximum motivation. Good luck gentlemen!!!
