Prempeh College walloped Archbishop Porter Girls today at the on-going
National Science and Maths Quiz. The contest was very keen from the start
but the ladies from the Western Region lost their spark during the second
round when they realised they could not match the "application skills"
of the boys. The Round 2 had a lot of "application" questions
and some calculations.
The Prempeh boys who had set a target of netting 115 points failed to do
so as they faltered during the 4th round. The boys could not do justice to
the Chemistry questions that came their way. The ladies also
could not get the bonus questions as the questions were so complicated.
Jeffrey and Riddle master Mawuenya then took upon themselves to answer all the 5 Riddle
Questions right in the 5th Round to the admiration of the quiz mistress,
Prof. Kaufmann (formerly a Doctor). She could not hide her admiration
for the boys though she favoured the ladies in the early part of the
contest.
At the end, Prempeh had 83 while the ladies from the Western part of Ghana
had 43. The boys told prempeh.org that they are not perturbed by the
results as it will aid them evade falling victim to complacency.
There will be a contest with the winner of the Adisco/Pope John duel on
Friday. All Amanfoo should come and fill the place.
