Prempeh College lock horns with Archbishop Porter Girls tomorrow to
determine who qualifies for the next round. It promises to be a heated one
as the ladies from the Western part are always seen with their books. The
boys however stay in their rooms and study.
The chaff will be separated from the wheat tomorrow morning.
Archbishop Porter Girls have been a school that has represented in the
National Science and Maths Quiz for a long time now. They manage to pass
the 1st round each year which gives them an automatic qualification for
the preceeding year.
When they were paired with Prempeh College on the 25th of June, their Quiz
master saw doom coming their way. He, the tutor is already down but feels
the need to beat Prempeh College. He refused to talk to our reporter
yeaterday but made one comment which brings out the "fear" in them. "We
are going to try and beat you guys," he said.
Prempeh College also has a very good record when they meet "girls
schools." Last year, we sent home our own sister school, St Louis denying
them the chance to be in Accra this year.
The boys have promised all Amanfoo that the trophy touches down the
college on 11th July. Jeffrey says,"Porter should think about narrowing
the gap that we will create and not beating us." Narrowing the gap means
that the boys are poised on beating the record set by Kofi Tawiah and his
colleagues.
