Prempeh College meets St Louis on Saturday. The quiz which was to take place on Friday
was postponed to Saturday, 24th June. No explanation was provided by Primetime as to
why the changed the date.
It has become extremely difficult for schools to figure out when they are scheduled to
participate. The organizers
only post the competing schools on the notice board at 4pm the day before the contests.
They have a view that the contestants have learned everything and prepared well so
they should be able to come up and compete on a short notice, which makes it very poorly organized.
After failing to inform people that this year's quiz is going to last two weeks until they got here, Primetime
informed us that the quiz will actually last 17 days -- June 19 to July 3. The final is scheduled for Monday, July 3rd.
When we asked them why they never informed the schools that the program has been extended so that people will bring enough
clothes and funds for the additional days, they told prempeh.org that neither did
they inform the schools that the winner will be driving home a free bus with a higher cash award (C50 million).
Meanwhile the Louis quiz masters have been approaching prempeh everyday telling us
they are underdogs but they will certainly send us home; we should start packing.
The theme for this year's quiz is Promoting academic rivalry in the study of
Maths & Science. St. Louis is bent on setting up such a rivalry with Prempeh.
