Prempeh College is set to thrill the whole nation again. We have done it
before and will do it again this year too. Just like Brazil, every school
dreads the name.
The conquest in the city of knowledge along the Gulf of
Guinea tells it all. Just as it has thrown so much fear among the schools in
Kumasi, schools in Accra are also struck like thunderbolt.
Some students of Presec have expressed their fright anytime they
hear, "Amanfoo, Arise and shine." Thus the anthem of Prempeh alone keeps them
running like Maurice Greene. The schools in Cape Coast have also felt the
bitter pill so they know what it takes to meet Prempeh College -- the great flagbearer
of Ashanti Region.

Prempeh goes into this competition knowing very well what is ahead of
them. The complacency that took the better part of the squad last year after
they had set a new record in the National Science and Maths Quiz is what the
old boys at Legon and the quiz coordinators are guarding against. The boys
also know that it takes more than knowledge to win the trophy as courage and
the spirit of camaderie plays a higher role than anything.
Prempeh College has selected four out of the 12 boys to do battle for the
school come Monday, 19th June, 2006. After they placed 5th in last year's
contest, the boys are wishing for the day to come when they will avenge for
their predecessors.
Sebastian Okyere Prince has once again proven to all that Butler house is
the citadel of knowldege on the campus of Prempeh College. In 2001, Peter who
was popularly known as Piere led the team but disappointed the whole Amanfoo
fraternity when they were beaten by Apam Secondary. Now, another Butler house boy
is leading the team after 5 years.

All Amanfoo are watching the steps that Sebastian will take this time
around. Aggrey house which is known to be the neatest house on campus is also
presenting another candidate for Prempeh College. Aning Daniel Gyawu who
partnered Sebastian Okyere in the Cocoa quiz last year in Accra after
overcoming the year's first challenge in Kumasi has the spirit and determination that it takes to
put on the mantle and represent the college at such an important ground or
level.
Adom Baafi Gideon of Pearson house is the man to watch. He is a Pearsonite
and as a matter of fact knows what it takes to be responsible. He is the man
who has vowed to bring honour to the college one more time in this
particular contest.
All that the contestants need from Amanfoo is their total support and help
in anyway possible as they move to the capital to compete with the creme de
la creme of Ghana science brains.
