This year's national quiz competition was supposed to be
held in February this year, instead of the usual April because of the changes in the SSS exam schedule.
The SSSCE has been replaced by the new WASSCE, which is scheduled to be written in May, and
which means that the national quiz competition had to be held early this year. But though the schools were given about one year notice of the
proposed February date, the schools claimed that they weren't ready in February/March. This is why the competition is being
held in June for the first time.
