National Science & Maths Quiz 2005
Our Quiz coverage praised
Wednesday, June 8, 2005
Some Kumasi schools have sent us messages of appreciation for
our coverage of the just-ended National Science & Maths Quiz.
Ever since the quiz ended, students from all walks of life have praised the website
and Prempeh College in general for the dedication to covering the performance
of all schools, and not just Prempeh's. People are surprised by the fact that we
set up a score board for all the schools, instead of just announcing Prempeh's results.
They were even more impressed by the fact that we gave a live commentary of a final in which Prempeh
was not a participant. Students from Kumasi High and Kumasi Academy have given us high praises, and
Kumasi Anglican boys, in particular, were touched by the kind remarks we consistently made about
them and other Kumasi Schools.
Several people in Kumasi followed the quiz competition regularly on this website and many tuned in here for the
final, which was won by St. Peters.
Some of the students who were having vacation classes at Prempeh's
campus during the vacation
gathered at the College's computer cafe and followed the score by score
proceedings at the website.
This was the first time any cameras were allowed in the Quiz Hall
during the National Science & Maths Quiz. Prempeh.org has been the first and the only
group to have been permitted to take photographs of the Quiz competition.
None of the national newspapers have been allowed to take photos in the past, except of the trophy
presentations, which are usually photographed
by the Quiz organizers themselves.
