National Science & Maths Quiz 2005
Ashanti Schools Shine
Thursday, April 28, 2005
So far, all Ashanti schools remain in the prestigious competition.
Prempeh has beaten Kinbu Secondary 107-28, OWASS overcame Sekondi College
83-58. Though Kumasi Anglican lost to Holy Child by 4 points, they will get a second chance
because, so far, they have achieved the highest score of all the losers. Ghana National won a bye and gets to
face the losing team with the higest point total.
Ashanti runner-up T.I. AMASS is expected to overwhelm Navrongo Secondary School tomorrow, while Kumasi
High take a chance against last year's national runner-up St. Peter's.
While Prempeh takes on Accra Academy next week in the second round, OWASS faces the host school Achimota.

We will support them next week when they face Achimota School, to ensure an all-Ashanti final.
Although the Santasi boys have been frustratingly substandard this season in Kumasi, losing to AMASS, when
national spotlight calls - especially in Accra - they have so far risen to the occasion. And this year will be no different.
An OWASS victory over Achimota will ensure purging of favouritism in the final, given that the Quizmistress is
a product of Achimota. This should be a rare moment for Amanfoo to cheer for OWASS.
They lost to T.I. AMASS in the semi-final of Ashanti Quiz competition.
Prempeh beat AMASS 54-43 in the Ashanti finals.
