This year's National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off at Achimota School in Accra on Monday, April 25, 2005. In the first round match, Prempeh beat Kinbu Secondary 107-28. Prempeh's score of 107 is a new national record. The previous record was 105, set by Adisadel College in 1997. The boys were admired and feared by all the other schools in the competition. However, they lost courage and panicked during a very easy competition with GSTS, and shocked the nation by losing. This quiz team, which appears to be Prempeh's most brilliant trio, has taught us all one vital lesson: it takes more than a high order of intelligence to excell on the stage in the full view of national television audience. We need to start bringing to the show in Accra the form 2 boys who will compete the next year. This will ensure that the contestants of the future will garner the necessary courage to answer questions under pressure.
