The headmaster is an ex-officio member of the committee. During their term of office, they lost Mr. K. Sefa Okrah, a hard working executive member. As at the time of the meeting too, the Vice Chairman was away pursuing a PhD program in the UK.
He made mention of some of the achievements of the outgoing executive which are as follows:
WALL PROJECT: He said, "We continued construction of the perimeter wall, a project that our predecessors initiated and have closed the entire primary perimeter of the college land. 3000 feet of wall was constructed during our term at a total cost of 345 million cedis.
SPEECH DAY PRIZES: The Association sponsored each speech day with 5 milllion cedis for prizes.
SUPPORT FOR STAFFING: The Association financed the temporary re-engagement of the retired lab technician and the PSI until their replacements were appointed. They also financed the engagement of extra security men and two pantry staff. Total cost for these support stands at 46 million cedis. The pantry staff support comes to an end at the end of their term.
SUPPORT FOR SPORTS: Sports was supported with sports equipment and beverages.
COLLEGE SHIRT PROJECT: Each year the executive committee successfully financed the college shirt project during their tenure of office.
LOAN OF REFURBISHMENT OF HEADMASTER'S BUNGALOW: In 2001, we gave a loan of 25 million, which enabled the refurbishment of the headmaster's bungalow. The money has since been repaid by the contractor
SUPPORT FOR SCIENCE AND MATHS QUIZ: The Association has been supporting the school's preparations towards the National Science and Maths Quiz. 8 milllion cedis has been released so far. It is regretful that the larger reward promised our school for ultimate success eluded us during this term
He also made mention of the some of the significant things they did for the school such as the construction of a new drainage system to do away with the stench that emanates from the schools bath houses at a cost of 108 million cedis as well as the purchase of cadet uniforms to the cadets. The PTA execs also insured the NEW TATA bus donated to the school by the president to the tune of 28 million cedis and also have set up Prempeh College PTA endowment fund.
He then gave the parents opportunity to ask their questions. A parent asked why the dining hall tables are not all served which the headmaster answered by saying that not all the students have paid their school fees so they lack the finances to foot the bill of feeding.
Another also implored the teachers to do their possible best so that the students come out successfully in their SSSCE exams.
The cadets went round to serve the parents and teachers present while some were giving out their suggestions and others were also asking the Chairman and the headmaster questions.
