    PREFECTORIAL CANDIDATES SCRUTINISED

    Thursday, June 16, 2005

    The 2004/05 Prefects
The headmater in his quest to bring out efficient leaders to man the affairs in the next academic year saw to it that the paper vetting of the Prefectorial candidates was done with exact precision so as to eliminate what he calls the "chaff".

The paper vetting which took place last Friday (June 10th) saw just a handful of applications as the headmaster's fury against this current administration of prefects has echoed very well in the ears of the students. The applications were scrutinised with some coming out successful while others didn't make it. This has made this year's elections less stressful and less competitive.

For the aspirants of the highest position on the land, we had only 5 applications which isn't the norm like the year 2001 which saw 19 people aspiring for the position of the senior prefect. Among the five applications submitted, only 3 were considered and the remaining 2 dismissed.

Therefore, the three are sure to be having badges on their chest and being called senior prefects already. prempeh.org questioned the three aspirants of the highest office of the land whether they are happy about the turn of events and they all said it wasn't the best but they cannot do anything about it since those who think are fit for the job submitted the applications.

Right now, the election is to let us know who becomes the main, the First Assistant and the Second Assistant.

At the live vetting at the Staff Common Room yesterday, in the full view of prempeh.org webmaster, the panel headed by Mr. K. Y. Yeboah, Assistant headmaster in charge of domestic affairs assisted by the Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics, Mr. Koduah, and the Senior Housemaster, Mr. Atiemo took the boys through a series of questions to ascertain their true potentials of leading a grand college like Prempeh.

The vetting continues today and the election will take place next week. The Prefectorial candidates will read their manifestos on Tuesday, June 21st, 2005, and the elections will be held the next day.

The photos we took there may well turn out to be the best pictures this website has ever produced.

prempeh.org will get you the results.

    Stay tuned.
