Senior Prefect Aspirants for 2004/05

June 5, 2004

After the vetting, election of the Prefects were held for the next batch of Prefects on Friday. Results were expected to be out by 6pm yesterday. However, it may not come out until possibly Monday. This is what happened: There were about 5 students competing to be Senior Prefects. To qualify for SP of Prempeh College, the candidate's cummulative class average must be at least 70%.

Twum Barimah Anthony, whose average is 69% was removed from the list. The day student, Eben Owusu Ansah was dismissed as ineligible to be SP as a day student. Consequently only 3 people stood for the election for the 3 Senior Prefectship positions, which rendered it uncompetitive and unexciting. So we know all of them are going to be SPs; it is a matter of the order (i.e., who will be the boss and who the two deputies will be and in what order).

We will announce it here for you.
Senior Twum Barimah
Senior Twum Barimah, of OT House missed the qualifying academic grade by 1 point and was removed as candidate for Senior Prefect. He looks like he possess the SP disposition, however. Congratulations to him for making it that far.
Eben Owusu Ansah
Eben Owusu Ansah is a day student who was declared ineligible to become Senior Prefect. He is the son of Bishop Kwame Owusu Ansah of Great Expectations Ministry. Congratulations anyway, Senior Eben, you tried your best!!

Dear Seniors Twum Barimah and Owusu Ansah (as well as all those candidates who failed to reach Canaan):

If it will make you all feel better, the great Senior Kufuor J.A, His Excellency, was not a Senior Prefect of Prempeh. But look how he turned out?

Now, our prediction of the most likely to become SP for 2004/2005:

The SP to be?
Kwadjo Konadu of Opoku Ware House. He may become the first Senior Prefect from the 9th House. Just like Kwadjo, the Assistant SP I may also be from Opoku Ware House. He may be Obeng Samuel, who became a boarder just a few months ago. THIS IS JUST A PREDICTION; it may not reflect the official winners. Moreover, it does not take any sheen away from the suitability of the other fine candidates. We will compare ours with the official release when it comes out. Stay tuned!!!
