Prefectorial Proceedings

Some Election complaints

June 7, 2004

The students are also saying that the whole Prefect selection process (the short-listing, vetting and elections) was not done in the proper way as has been done in the past. The normal protocol was not adhered to. The Senior Prefects did not take part in the short listing of the aspirants as they normally do. They should have been there to comment on the behaviour of some of the aspirants and to inform the Headmaster as to their fitness for the job. However, they were only invited for the final vetting where it seemed too late to take any such actions.

A student passed through the vetting round to the election stage where he won but when the name came out, it was then that they realised that he had been suspended before so they disqualified him.

Those grumblings notwithstanding, we've got some great new Prefects.
