Yaa Asantewaa ladies received the program booklet right upon arrival. Here they are seen reading the day's agenda

The glorious Quizzes League inauguration ceremony has just come to a close. The Yaa Asantewaa Girls and AMASS delegates came.

The former Senior Prefect, Oheneba Adusei Poku, Akyempemhene of Asante was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Akosa also came, albeit a little late owing to traffic problems. Also present was the new Regional Director of Education.

The Dean of the School of Medical Sciences of KNUST, who was supposed to be a Speaker, could not be present. He travelled to Guinea last night on a mission for the medical school.

The contestants seated on the front row. Each one was called to the stage to shake hands with the Guest of Honour and receive letters of recognition and Quizes league memorabilia. Their names were also printed in the souvenir program brochure, which they will keep as a memento. This also ensures that the YAGSS ladies will know to whom and where to send their love notes.

However, he faithfully came to the college to inform us about his sudden travel plans and his disappointment at not being able to appear.

Prempeh.org has asked TV3 not to show the event tonight, but should rather wait until the weekend. Students in secondary schools do not watch television on weekday evenings because of the nightly prep program. By reserving it for a saturday or sunday night slot, we guarrantee that our opponents in Akwatia, Santasi, Accra and Cape Coast would get to panic infront of their television screens. People have already started talking about how news of our novel quizes league is intimidating opponents.

After the ceremony, the Akyempemhene made the following remarks: "I'm surprised Harold Ofori could do this. He is telling all of us something. For me, I'm ashamed to have sat here not thinking about anything but someone in the USA has done this. I have fallen in love with him."

The Akyempemhene, who checks the website regularly, went on to say, "I will tell Otumfuo about this guy today. Today."

But because we agree with Disraeli's statement that "the author who speaks about his own books is almost as bad as a mother who talks about her own children," prempeh.org will not comment about Nana Akyempemhene's generous remarks any further, though we appreciate his kindly viewpoint.

As always, the talents we show here and our stunning success over the years never seduce us into an ostentation.
