Prempeh in Accra GSA/CMB Science Quiz

Prempeh College, winners of the Ashanti division of the Ghana Science Association national quiz, will arrive in Accra on Friday, September 30 to take on the champions of the nine other regions. The competition will be held on Saturday, October 1st.

The ten regional champions will be placed in groups and they will compete to eliminate 6. The final four teams will all compete against each other.

The organizers stipulated today that at the national level, each school is to present 2 contestants instead of 3. They will however sponsor a delegation of 4 other people from each school. Two of our quizmasters including Mr. Francis Kupo will accompany the team.

Prempeh.org has today released funds to the Administration as reimbursement for their fuel expenses, since the organizers pay for food and hostel (at GNAT Hostel) for the six delegates. The Headmaster has been inspired so much by this gesture that he has decided to travel to Accra with the team.

Mr. Kupo said that his inspiration is derived from the webmaster's "nobility of character." He said, "the fact that one old boy is so serious about his alma mater and freely provides to the team, I can't relent on my quest to bring success to this school. Thoughts of the webmaster always prompts me to act and strive for the best result."

Kupo says they will be in Accra in the afternoon around 2pm so the boys could rest and read their books in the evening. This means they will leave the Garden City around 10am. Legon Amanfoo will be waiting to meet them.

The quiz is organised by the Ghana Science Association in collaboration with the Cocoa Marketing Board. Our opponents are not known.

The contestants of the school who wins the national final will have a treat from the Vice President of Ghana.
