Inter-Schools Quiz tomorrow

There is going to be a 4 school Science and Maths Quiz organised by the Ghana Science Association in conjunction with the Cocoa Marketing Board.

The quiz will take place on Tuesday, the 27th of September. It is a new national quiz. Prempeh College has been placed in a group that comprises of St Louis, Opoku Ware and Konongo Odumasi.

The winner of this group then qualifies for the nationals at Accra on Saturday, October 1st.

Speaking to Mr. Francis Kupo today, he said that, "Prempeh College is not going to take things for granted. We are already training and hope to beat all the schools. We thank the website for sponsoring our boys during the vacation, a gesture that has put us far ahead of our competitors."

Whereas all the other schools had about a week to prepare, Prempeh's team is very well-prepared because prempeh.org had the contestants reside on campus for part of the school vacation to undergo rigorous training for the 2006 National Science & Maths Quiz competition. When we made that proposal to have the boys remain on campus, little did we know then that such a contest will come our way in September.

The Headmaster also praised us for our partnership in this matter. He said the videos have been particularly helpful to the team.

The only problem with Prempeh is the selection of the 3 best contestants out of the short-listed 12. Unlike the previous years when it had been clear-cut as to what trio was the best, this year's squad is difficult to select from, and our masters wanted to have more time and use the Inter-Houses Quizes league in making that determination.

We will see how they do tomorrow.
