OCTOBER 1ST IS DATE OF CEREMONY

The Headmaster has fixed October 1st, 2005 as the date for the opening ceremony of the first Annual Inter-Houses Science & Maths Quizes League.

This affords the school enough time to prepare the contestants and invite special guests for the grand ceremony. Letters of invitation will be going out within the next few days to a lineup of distinguished guests. The program, which will be broadcast on national television by TV-3, will bring together several distinguished guests to the campus of the Royal School in Kumasi.

The Headmaster, in his role as Vice-Chairman of Schools Sports, has been in Sunyani all week following the annual inter-regional schools and colleges sports festival. Prempeh.org on Friday, September 2nd went to Sofoline with the trophy of Inter-Houses Maths & Science Quizes League, which has been dubbed "The Legend's Cup," to bestow upon the winning team some form of iconic status on campus. However, when we got there, wildly anticipating a trophy presentation, we realised that the whole school was closed because of the Sunyani games.

Upon phoning the headmaster in Sunyani, he sent down his deputy (i.e., Asst. Headmaster Yeboah) all the way from the faraway Brong-Ahafo capital city to come down to Sofoline and give us a reception, which was extremely impressive. Our mouths went agape at this gesture because it shows how serious the man (and by extension his administration) is.

The opening ceremony will be a great opportunity to officially introduce the nation's first collegiate website to the whole country. We will pay for special advertisement time.
