Opportunity for revenge

Thursday, June 29, 2006

Stenphen Okei, no longer the immature child who missed penalty

Prempeh College has the opportunity to avenge a defeat suffered at the hands of Potsin AMASS two years ago when the two clashed in the National Milo Soccer competition.

That was the first time Prempeh College qualified from the Ashanti Region having won the region's ultimate title. The naivety of the team was so evident that they feared each time they met an opponent from a soccer academy. That assumption was that the soccer academies are powers to reckon with.

This attitude cost the college a lot in 2004 leading to Ahmed Deedat and Stephen Okei, then form one students, shooting wayward during the penalty kicks when the game with Potsin AMASS ended goaless.

Prempeh College having the experience and skillful players this time around are bent on a sweet revenge against the men from the soccer academy in Cape Coast.

If we win, we will become the first school in the nation to win the prestigious and tough national competition back to back.

The game starts at 2:30pm on Saturday.
