Prempeh face Obuasi Sec Tech in national semi final
Wednesday, June 28, 2006
This very year has seen two schools from Ashanti Region competing for a
trophy in a far away land. At first, it was Prempeh vs St Louis and then
OWASS vs AMASS all in Accra and now, it is going to be Obuasi Sec Tech vs
Prempeh College in Koforidua tomorrow.
The two teams clash in the semi-final of the National Milo Championship
having won their groups. Obuasi Sec Tech plays Prempeh College
after they beat Takoradi Sec by 3 goals to 1.
Prempeh also won by beating Bolgatanga 2 goals to nil. Unfortunately, the ace
striker of the Prempeh team who has fitted well into the shoes of the departed Martin "Apio"
Osei Nyarko, the
former captain now plying his trade with Tano Bofoakwa FC,
is injured in the foot after he stepped on a nail some few
minutes to the start of the game against Bolgatanga Secondary.
That goes to
tell the nature of the pitches in Ghana. Was it accidental or designed
by our opponents to get our players injured?
The Prempeh boys are determined to lift the trophy and have promised to
beat Obuasi Sec Tech to get to the finals.
Obuasi Sec Tech have
players from ther soccer academy so it is really going to be a herculian
task for the Sofoline boys.
