Prempeh beats Bolga 2-0

Tuesday, June 27, 2006

Prempeh College today qualified from their group in the on-going National Milo Soccer competition in Koforidua after defeating Upper East Regional champions, Bolgatanga Secondary. The defending national champions went into the competition having lost their ace striker, Charles Brenya through an accident.

Charles Brenya, affectionately called Striker, had a nail pinched into his boot 5 minutes to the start of the match against Bolgatanga Secondary. Charles Brenya was then rushed to the hospital.

Prempeh notwithstanding won the game through goals from Collins Amponsah, who has now improved tremendously at goalscoring after he showed some poor performance during the Regional Milo Competition.

A second goal from Sadat Karim sealed the victory for the Amanfoo. Prempeh now moves from their group to the semifinals and are likely to meet Obuasi Sec Tech who also qualified from the Ashanti Region.
