NEW SENIOR PREFECT'S ADDRESS AT HANDING OVER CEREMONY

The headmaster, Assistant headmasters, The Chaplain and Teaching staff, Outgone prefects, Fellow Prefects and students, the time has once again arrived as the sun sets on these prefects and its twilight sets on new leaders head ablaze with a new zeal .So has it happened that today the mantle be handed over to us as prefects for the next academic year.

Truly, we are much privileged to be called out of the lot for authority to be handed over to us to serve as an intermediary between the administration and the student body.

Mr. Headmaster, having academic work, discipline, sanitation and effective co-operation as our main objectives, we pledge allegiance to our work and school. Indiscipline has managed to crop up in schools these days and has found its place also in this school causing more harm than good. For this and other pressing sectors, we have decided to use the great theme of our predecessors “REBUILDING PREMPEH AND VISITING THE PAST GLORIES.” Indeed, we need to reframe our name and fame.

Leadership is all about one life influencing a whole lot of others in a positive way. And if this is justifiable, then discipline is going to be instilled first in us, the prefects before other students to pursue this but with the blessing and support of our masters and mistresses. I therefore beseech you to be wise and intelligent, fellow students, to help us accomplish our mission. Let us use dialogue and self-discipline to find remedies to our problems.

As the S.R.C. president, I will make sure there is unity between the S.R.C. and prefectorial board. There will be subsequent meetings between these two bodies in order to channel all petitions to those in power. Our Science and Math Quiz Club will have our undivided attention and support and our major project of renovating our Assembly Hall’s stage will be accomplished.

To conclude, Mr. Headmaster, we wish our final year students success in million folds. See your alma mater in a unique perspective as you look back some time from now. A charge to keep we have and our Lord to glorify and until we sing the dismissal, Long Live Prempeh College and her prefects. Thank you.
