54TH SPEECH DAY & 1ST GRADUATION CEREMONY - 2003

12-Year Education Devt. Plan Takes Off January

Culled from The Ghanaian Times

From next month, the government will begin a massive investment in the construction and rehabilitation of schools throughout the country. This follows the adoption of a 12-year strategic educational plan by the government.

The Minister of the Interior, Mr Hackman owusu- Agyeman, announced this in Kumasi in the Ashamti Region at the 54th speech and prize-giving day of Prempeh College at the weekend.

He said the new educational plan would act as a catalyst for the development of information, education and communication technology at all levels of the educational sector in the country.

The highlight of the occasion was the maiden mass graduation of over 700 past students of the school, the first in the history of any second cycle institution in the country.

The headmaster of the college, Mr Owusu Achiaw, thanked all stakeholders of the college, the Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the government, old students and PTA for their regular contributions towards the development of the school.
